LifeShow Player app finalist in the Multi-Screen competition at Mobile World Congress

Barcelona, February 24, 2013The global Multi Screen UX competition sponsored by Sony rewards the best multi-screen application developers—mobile, tablet, TV, PC. French startup Cybronics is among the finalists with its multi-screen photo sharing service LifeShow.

With the widespread adoption of smart, connected screens such as smartphones, tablets, Smart TVs and ultrabooks, new opportunities are opening up for users to receive or share content. Services and applications offered by manufacturers still have to be simple and useful enough to create new habits around these new screens.

Multiscreen

In this context, the MultiScreen UX multi-screen application contest was organized by Japanese company Nikkei BP with support from Sony. Cybronics' LifeShow Player app is one of the 10 finalists announced today. The app meets a simple need: turning a tablet, connected TV or computer into a remote-controlled photo frame from your mobile, simply and quickly. Once installed, users can beam their favorite shots to their own screens or to a loved one's, whether or not they are in the same home—or even the same country.

Photo frame

Photo selection and upload are handled via the LifeShow website without needing to touch any device. Added photos appear instantly and are displayed continuously like a permanent slideshow. Users can also immediately share photos taken on their mobile to other screens without going through any online storage service: the photos are shared in peer-to-peer mode between devices. Finally, playback can be controlled remotely from any device using the "Live" feature, allowing users to comment live on photos shown simultaneously in their relatives' homes.

All of the finalist applications, including LifeShow Player, are on display at the Sony Booth at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 25 to 28, 2013, Hall 6 Booth 6D10
