Malfosse - Interactive multimedia investigation on Alexa

Malfosse

Cybronics developed the Alexa skill for the Malfosse project, a large-scale interactive multimedia experience associating Amazon, Audible and several French thriller stars to solve an unprecedented police investigation with 30,000 euros at stake.

In the vein of escape games and puzzle games, this original and bold concept imagined by Damien Maric invites the public to participate in a large interactive multimedia police investigation, spanning several months.

Three cases to solve

The project features Thomas Loreau, a crime reporter murdered in 2018 while investigating a 70-year-old case: 18 extremely violent murders that took place in the village of Malfosse between 1948 and 1949. Three distinct but connected cases await players, with 10,000 euros to win for each unmasked murderer.

A digital seance on Alexa

Cybronics developed the project's Alexa skill, offering a unique experience: a digital and interactive seance allowing players to communicate with the dead of Malfosse and unmask the killer from the 1948 case. This skill integrates into a complete multimedia system including podcasts, mobile app, book and board game.

A large-scale project

From writing to launch, this project required three years of work and collaboration with five companies including Amazon and Audible, as well as thriller stars: Franck Thilliez, Sophie Loubière, Patrick Baud, Jérôme Camut, and Stéphane Bourgoin, serial killer specialist. About twenty successful thriller authors collaborated on the 12 audio episodes released on Audible.
